I think the trip is going to be wonderful! I can’t wait to see the different animals and places all over the country. And if we can, I’d really like to go to Alaska. I’ve never seen what Alaska is like, but I’ve heard there are a lot of open fields and wildlife there, maybe wolves, so I want to go.
I have a cool bed in the RV. I like it because it has more space, not by length, but width, which is better because I can roll around more. It’s high up, so I feel like an eagle looking down on a valley over everything!
One thing that everyone had to do in order to move into the RV was get rid of a lot of stuff, because we couldn’t take everything. Throwing away things got easier. After a while I realized I didn’t really miss anything, although I thought I’d regret not having those toys and need them as time went on, but that never happened. I asked myself, “Will I really need this in the future?” or “Would I miss it?” That made things a lot easier. And so after a while everything was gone, except for a small box of things that I could actually fit into the RV.
I feel it is much easier to manage my stuff, because I have less stuff. My room was a jungle of toys! There were toys left and right on the floor. People couldn’t get into my room and it was very hard to clean. Then once I started to throw stuff away, it whittled down into something that was actually manageable.
The biggest benefit of getting rid of all that stuff is that we get to go into the RV and see all kinds of new things! I want to see animals I’ve never seen. I want to learn more about things I’ve never heard of by seeing them. I can’t wait to open my eyes in the morning and see a lot of different things, in different places. I really want to see a wolf! That is my favorite animal.
I’d also like to see the strange cacti in the desert that are really tall and look like people. They are green and have spikes on them.
I have guesses, but I’m still not sure what will happen when we leave. We’ll just have to wait and see. To be continued…
Yay Cole! So fun! I’m so excited to hear about your travels!
Uncle A
Me, too! I can’t wait to see the rest of the country and tell everyone else about it!
Hi Cole, Wow what a trip your are all going on! I think it is one of the coolest things that parents could do is to take their kids on a loooong road trip. I was lucky as my parents liked to travel and so I got to see a lot of different places and experience all sorts of interesting things. I found it one of the best educations I could get.
I agree with you a wolf is a beautiful animal, although I have never seen one in real life I would like to, so be sure to post some pictures and tell us all about it when you do see them.
So you are an inventor, that is a great job and one that will never get boring, there are so many things that need to still be invented, I would love to hear some of your ideas.
Have an adventure and above all have fun doing it. Much love Chris
Well, I can’t wait to be going around the country, not just the south and east areas. I have an idea for a luggage carrier, one that follows behind you as you go. I had considered making a cupholder car, that would bring your water whenever you wanted, but I realized it wasn’t too practical as it could get stepped on or it could trip people. Thanks for writing this comment!
Hi Cole, my husband and I are on a trip similar to yours and we just left Alaska. If you make it there you won’t be disappointed with the wildlife. We saw bears, moose, bald eagles, seals, whales, otters, elk, marmots and all sorts of birds. While we were driving through Canada we saw a grey wolf cross the road. He was so BIG!! It was very cool. I keep a North American Mammals field guide with me at all times so that I can identify all the animals we see. We saw a coyote that looked like a wolf too but my filed guide helped me figure out it was actually a coyote. There are a surprising number of species of squirrel so I’ve enjoyed identifying the different squirrels as we’ve traveled. Have fun.

Wow, COOL! I should keep a field guide with me too! That’s a good idea. It must have been so exciting to see a grey wolf on the road. I can’t wait to go to Alaska and see all those different animals!!
Hi Cole!
Wow, what a wild adventure! You and your sisters are some lucky kids. And such a great idea to write a blog. I feel like I can follow you through the country. And although I’ve seen a lot of it, I haven’t seen it all. And of course since everyone has a different viewpoint, what you see will be unique to you.
Thank you, Merry! I hope that you get a chance to see the rest of the country, too!
Yay! I’m glad you all seem to want to see the desert because I live really close to a desert and I’d love to see you all!!!
Scarlet and I really want to go to Alaska too. We want to see the Northern Lights. And we have some friends that live in Alaska. They could show us around. Maybe we can plan a joint Alaska trip.
Have so much fun. Learn tons of awesome things.
Love,
Stephanie
Really! I didn’t know that there was any deserts in California. I didn’t see that when I was there! I haven’t seen much desert anywhere.
I would looove to go to Alaska with you! Thank you!
I would love to see all the states around you and would love to see you!
Hi Cole,
I’m looking forward to reading all your blogs, as you travel all over the country and
see wonderful places. No doubt you’ll not only see many of the favorite places Grandpa and I visited with your Dad and Uncle David when they were your age, but also get to lots of places I’ve never been to.
What a fun way to learn history, geography, and everything.
I’ve thought of how amazing it actually is, that I get to learn geography, science and history in a fun way! And I also can’t wait to find new places that I’ve never been to. Right now we’re in DC and I’ve seen all kinds of wonderful things, like the Hope Diamond, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and other amazing things. I’ll be blogging about that soon!
