We’ve had so many interesting adventures and experiences. I haven’t been able to write about all of them, so I thought I’d just include a few here, without getting into too much detail.
Allow me to start with the bats!
In Austin, Texas, you can go down to the Congress Avenue Bridge and see thousands of bats emerge into the sky at dusk. It’s quite an event, one that hundreds of people enjoy each night.
Enchanted Rock is an amazing spot. We climbed to the top of the giant pink granite rock and enjoyed the view. This is a favorite park of many Texans.
When we stayed at Sunset Beach Village, Texas, there were dozens of deer all over. I counted thirty-five in the neighborhood on our last night here. They are fearless and calm!
And who can forget the Alamo? It’s quite a place to visit.
Lone Star Taco became one of our favorite spots in Houston. The food and service were out of this world!
Every Easter I like to create a special egg hunt for the kids. We found a wonderful little park by the water this year. And on top of that we were invited to two other hunts by the neighbors! That’s amazing considering we were complete strangers to the area.
Forgive the hodgepodge nature of this blog article, but I wanted to catch up a bit and share some of my favorite tidbits from the last month with you!
It’s a thrill for me to read a blog soon after you post it. I love all the photos, too!
Don & I and Dave & Dan drove across the US many times, but didn’t get to see half the
places you’ve seen so far – like the Alamo, all the beautiful small parks.you visit, etc.
What a marvelous experience for all 5 of you.
Love, Mom
Our plan is to see everything! 🙂 I keep checking with each member of the family and everyone is still happy with the experience. Can you believe it’s been six months?
