Me and my brother Cole and my sister Serena want to make Kid Fortresses all over the world. A Kid Fortress is somewhere where kids can be by themselves and no grownups are allowed. I’d like the spread the idea of Kid Fortresses so that other kids know about it.
The first one we ever created was at a park, where we were staying for a week. There was a nice watchtower, some battle swings and a quick escape watchtower. And there were big fields where you could train warriors. On the quick escape tower, there were tall steps. First level was four and it goes all the way up to ten. My brother was able to jump from the tenth. I could jump six. Serena could jump six, too. Cole was really the good one at jumping.
The second Kid Fortress was a small one. It had some things to do, bells to ring for lunchtime or if someone was close to our fortress. (That was at a regular playground, where we drove in with a car).
Then we went to the outdoor art museum in Raleigh.
There was a castle and we claimed it!
We also found one at Winslow Farm (where I collected donations). And it had battle swings, quick escapes and lots of kitties! One actually went into the Kid Fortress!
Just now we found one at the Walmart where we’re staying. It’s a giant hill with a pine tree for shade and weaponry (pine cones). Then there is a watchtower side of it, a high up place where you can see everything! The other side had a quick escape route (running down the hill).
Stay tuned for my next blog article!
Camille,
I love to read your blogs, like this latest one where you tell about Kid Fortresses
and post pictures of you and your sister and brother.
It’s great that the three of you can wander around a place where grownups aren’t allowed, especially after being altogether with them for a long time in the RV.
Love,
Grandma
Thank you! I like it, too. Even though there’s no sign there, we can defend our Kid Fortresses!
Kid fortresses totally sounds like an Annabelle thing! She loves getting away from grownups.
